Indications/Uses:
For the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anemia.
Dosage/Direction for Use:
Refer to the dosing table or as directed by a healthcare professional.
Missed Dose:
If a dose is missed, take the next scheduled dose. Do not double the dose unless advised by a doctor.
Overdosage:
Iron overdose may lead to serious side effects, which can occur in four stages:

Stage I (0–6 hours): Vomiting, diarrhea, low blood pressure, rapid heartbeat, and possible CNS depression (drowsiness to coma).

Stage II (6–24 hours): Temporary improvement or reduced signs of toxicity.

Stage III: Recurrence of symptoms including shock, metabolic acidosis, coma, liver damage, jaundice, low blood sugar, kidney failure, and fluid in the lungs.

Stage IV (weeks later): Gastrointestinal blockage and liver damage.
Seek immediate medical attention or contact Poison Control if more than the recommended dose is taken.
Administration:
Should be taken on an empty stomach for best absorption. May be taken with meals to reduce gastrointestinal discomfort.
Contraindications:
Do not use if the patient has any of the following:

Allergy to any ingredient in the product

Primary hemochromatosis

Peptic ulcer, regional enteritis (e.g., Crohn's disease), or ulcerative colitis

Receiving iron injections or blood transfusions (risk of iron overload)
Adverse Reactions:
High doses (over 120 mg of elemental iron/day) may cause:

Nausea, vomiting, bloating, and abdominal discomfort

Black stools, diarrhea, or constipation
Drug Interactions:

Antacids: Take at least 1 hour apart to avoid reduced iron absorption.

Tetracyclines: Take 1 hour before or 3 hours after iron to prevent reduced absorption.

Quinolones (e.g., Ciprofloxacin): Take at least 2 hours before iron.
-
Chloramphenicol: May delay response to iron therapy.

Other Interactions: Iron may reduce absorption of Carbidopa, Levodopa, Methyldopa, and Penicillamine. Take these at least 2 hours before iron.
Storage:
Store below 30°C. Protect from light. Keep the container tightly closed.
