Overdosage:
Iron overdose may lead to serious side effects, which can occur in four stages:

• Stage I (0–6 hours): Vomiting, diarrhea, low blood pressure, rapid heartbeat, and possible CNS depression (drowsiness to coma).

• Stage II (6–24 hours): Temporary improvement or reduced signs of toxicity.

• Stage III: Recurrence of symptoms including shock, metabolic acidosis, coma, liver damage, jaundice, low blood sugar, kidney failure, and fluid in the lungs.

• Stage IV (weeks later): Gastrointestinal blockage and liver damage.

Seek immediate medical attention or contact Poison Control if more than the recommended dose is taken.

Administration:
Should be taken on an empty stomach for best absorption. May be taken with meals to reduce gastrointestinal discomfort.

Contraindications:
Do not use if the patient has any of the following:
